William F. Doehring Organist
William F. Doehring has served at Holy Cross as organist since 1995. He also currently co-directs and accompanies the Sanctuary Choir. He is a lifetime Lutheran and graduated from St. Paul Lutheran in Hammond, Indiana.
His musical career started at age 7 when he learned to play the accordion and then started lessons on the organ at the age of 18. He became church organist and choir director at age 19. For 15 years, he worked in the Electric Engineering Department of Northern Indiana Public Service Co. For 22 years, he was a District Representative for Aid Association for Lutherans and a service representative for Vroom Organ Co. in Lansing, Illinois, and Range Organ Co. in Dallas, Texas, for 18 years, designing, repairing, tuning, and dedicating pipe organs. In 2005, he completed the Holy Cross organ that was installed (but not completed) in 1980.
He has been married to Lucille for over 50 wonderful years, and they have 3 girls and 1 boy, two in Indiana and two in Dallas, and one grandchild. His goal in life is to serve the Lord with gladness.
