Affiliation
Holy Cross Lutheran School is one of over 2,500 Lutheran schools in the
United States, including pre-schools, elementary and secondary schools.
These schools are part of the Lutheran school system of the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod, the second largest system of parochial education
in America. The LCMS has had Christian Day Schools since 1847.
In the 1800s, the first LCMS colleges were founded to prepare teachers
for the teaching ministry of the church. Today there are ten colleges and
universities making up the Concordia University System which prepare
educators for Christian school ministry within the Synod.
Although each congregation or association of congregations is
autonomous as to the operation of their schools, the synod and its
districts provide much program, curriculum and in-service support for
the schools within the synod.
Accreditation
Holy Cross is accredited through the National Lutheran School
Accreditation program. Individual schools receive this accreditation
after undergoing an extensive self-study and meeting a comprehensive set
of required principles and standards. Holy Cross has both Texas District
and National Lutheran School Accreditation. These accreditations are
officially recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission
(TEPSAC) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You may visit the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod website at

for more information on principles and standards of Lutheran schools.
